Good day, guys!!!
I'm frustrated of receiving promotional messages and calls; I'm not sure where they got my phone number because it's only shared with a few individuals, but I'm constantly getting calls and texts. Last week, I received over 300 texts and phone calls. What should I do now? Is there any way to avoid having to change my phone number?

Hi @johannes
There are some options tp help with this.
https://www.tpsonline.org.uk/register/text_to_register is an option.
If some of the marketing is coming from Vodafone then there is How-do-I-change-my-marketing-preferences.
Through your online myvodafone.
"
Through your myvodafone app.
"
Your phone may also have text and call blocking options built in.
There is further advice in https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/problems/tackling-nuisanc... and https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/phone-internet-downloads-or-tv/stop-getting-nuisance-call...
There is alsp the option to change your number as youve indicated and is explained in How-do-I-change-my-phone-number.
I appreciate how frustrating this must be.

Hi @johannes
At a guess you are a new customer with a new number. If this is correct, you may have been provided with recyled number, once disconnected numbers are recyled and reissued throughout the telephone industry, with the number of unwanted calls you are receiving that would explain the reason the previous user no longer wanted the number.
You can try toggling on the reject calls though you call settings for unknown private numbers, this would stop any calls that are not in your contact list calling, there is also a setting for blocking spam and scam calls. You can certainly ask Vodafone for a new number but you may get a further recycled number but hopefully, not with so many unwanted marketing calls.
