You don't mention the method you used to apply for your pay monthly contract, I have added some information for you below.
If you applied online, Vodafone will immediately send confirmation of your order and when the credit check has cleared, you will receive your Welcome Pack with details of your contract and Terms and Conditions. If you do not receive this email, Customer Services will help.
If you have ordered a phone, Vodafone generally keep you updated throughout the order process and providing the phone is in stock you will receive an updated email when the phone has been despatched with full tracking details.
