Credit score help

Mr101
1: Seeker

I’m worried about late payment marks on my credit score . What’s vodafone protocol on missed payments and credit score . Is there a certain amount of days of missing payment before a late payment mark is placed onto your Credit score ? My direct debit have recently returned without my bank notifying me and now I’m worried this is going to affect my credit . However once Vodafone notify me of payment required to pay a bill via text I have paid immediately . Can someone help or advise.

Thanks

@Mr101

Vodafone would apply a marker or default as a very last resort if a person didn't engage with them in regards to paying monies outstanding.

Customer service via contact-us can advise on the status of your account and any action taken.

experian can also give you advice and support and a copy of your Credit File to be able to check for any markers.

{ Other ways of checking your Credit File are available.  }

The Vodafone Social Media Teams here no longer access accounts via posts from the Vodafone Forum but can if you contact them via Vodafone Facebook or Vodafone Twitter.

My apologies at having to send you elsewhere to engage with Vodafone UK as I appreciate you came here , signed up and created a post to reach out for help but the Team here can no longer help with Account based issues.

But it's the same Social Media Teams here that help and assist via Facebook and Twitter.

Things have changed as they have decided that help and assistance with account based issues would be best supported that way.

I appreciate not everyone wants to use Social Media however it takes but a few moments to create a Twitter account and then can be forgotten if necessary. Just a thought.

Hi @Mr101

Unlike banks and credit card companies, mobile networks are not regulated by the same consumer credit act and are not obligated to forewarn before reporting a default against a credit file.

Any missed payment will be reported immediately the following month against your file, if you have defaulted and not kept up with your payments, Vodafone will send a letter and try and phone giving you the opportunity to make payment.

If you are going to be having financial difficulties, always best to contact Vodafone, they can be sympathetic and offer a payment plan, again best avoided if possible, any payment plan will be reported against your file and will impact on your ability to get credit.
