Default on credit report. HELP!

Hi,

I am hoping someone can help me  I recently tried to apply for a mortgage and was declined and from looking at my credit report I have a default with Vodaphone from 2014. I was unaware of this default at this time until Lowell contacted me informing me that the account has been passed on by Vodaphone. I contacted Vodaphone as this time as I had not received any written confirmation that this account was defaulted and was unaware until Lowell contacted me.
I was reassured by Vodaphone that this default would be lifted as there was miscommunication however, I have only recently discovered that has not been the case and my account still remains defaulted on my Experian credit file.

I have contacted Lowell as I am aware they are the current owners of this account however, they have clearly stated that as Vodaphone were the original defaulters then they can not drop this default unless Vodaphone correct this and inform that of these changes.

I feel this is massively affecting my life again as I am unable to apply for a mortgage or any credit for that matter with this default hanging over my head

Please let the Vodafone Social Media Team here catch up with your thread and bring you in away from the open forum to pass security checks and they'll help you further with this situation by passing the info to their Credit File Specialist Team.

If a default is found to not have been waresmtied then I'm sure it'll be removed.

I too have had exactly the same treatment as many other people have here. I thought I had paid all I needed to close an account and got no written correspondence about money owed until Vodafone had passed the ‘debt’ on. The only difference is that I have called 3 times now asking for people to help with this matter but kept getting passed around, explaining the situation 3 times to different people just to be told that someone will “call me back”. Not once has anyone called back and am getting fed up!

Experian also says I still owe £18. When I call, Vodafone say they can’t see that I owe anything and am 100% I paid all I owed to the debt collection agency that Vodafone pss matters too. This is many years ago so am confused as to why it is still showing I owe money?! Also, considering the situation would like it to be removed completely as I feel I was a loyal customer to Vodafone for many years and the I get slapped with a huge bill when I could have easily paid the £18 originally owed if I knew it was outstanding!

please let me know how I sort this out as I am applying for a mortgage in January 2019 and don’t want the same issue many others are having here.

I actually don’t know how to contact them but it seems someone from Vodafone has contacted me on here and asked me for my info to deal with the situation as soon as I get any more on how to contact them I will pass it over to you.
