Dispute on my credit file...

Hi guys,

I have tried searching the old thread on this topic to add to it but not having much luck.

So long story short, I left Vodafone in May of this year. Used a PAC code and transferred to an alternative provider (ironically before porting back four weeks later).

So someone posted a thread to say that their Vodafone account was still reporting to their credit file after leaving. I checked my file and surprise, surprise, there was my old Vodafone account ticking along.

I posted a thread and someone from the forum team looked into it and told me it was sorted.

However I've just checked my credit file and whilst the Vodafone now does show settled / closed, the final entry onto my credit file is an entry saying "You have a dispute over the payments due or the goods recieved".

Now this is not the case, when my number ported out in May, Vodafone stopped access to my online account. I can log in and see my account number, all other options say I need to be the account holder. The site states I should still be able to sign in and see bills. Ironically the final bill, I never saw as I have online billing but access was removed. I have signed into my bank account today and the direct debit for the old Vodafone is still live. I've cancelled it but this makes me think that along with the strange entry on my credit file, my old Vodafone account still hasn't been closed properly on all systems.

I'd like the credit entry looking into as I don't need lenders seeing that I dispute payments when I don't. Especially as it'll sit there until June 2023 unless you sort it.

As always, thanks in advance.

Hi Donnyguy

I'm going through a verym similar experience - I returned a new phone and at the same time cancelled my account but for some reason it didn't register on th vodafone 'system'. I've chased it three time now over the last 3 months as Vodafone are stating that I owe 1100 pounds and now theyve just registered a missed payment and have affected my credit score - I'm livid.

I had a  one hour 40 minutes call last Thursday - I'm not normally one to complain but it's been the total incompetence of the Vodafone staff that has ended up with my credit score being affected. I was told that I would be contacted today and no one called....grrr....so I've just raised a complaint on the vodafone website and asked for it to be raised with the ombudsmen.

Regarding the credit score - they admitted it was their fault and explained that they will rectify it and should take 30 days to come off my record. I'll believe it when I see it.

Let me know how you get on.
