In October 2019 we were due to move but the date was put back a month so losing my BT broadband i popped into a local Vodafone store in Ely Cambridgeshire and they recommended a wifi dongle. After trying it out for a week or two i decided to take it back and they gave me a refund (Shows on my bank account) As far as i was concerned that was the end of the matter until my bank said i had adverse credit. to my horror the store failed to cancel the direct debit and i was charged several months for a device i never had. As a good will gesture i paid the £85 i didn't owe and vodafone said they will contact experian and get this entry removed. This was a total lie and my files been updated just to say the balance is 0. This has gone on for 3 months cause endless pain with our finances and i feel i've now no other option but to take legal action and sue for damages against vodafone for wrongful damage to my previously good reputation. The store as well as credit control agree this was an error but for whatever reason the entry remains. Having been a vodafone customer for 25 years i'm disgusted with how this has been handled and would appreciate urgent intervention before i seen legal advise on Monday.

Not a good experience at all and I appreciate how damaging a default is from my own personal experience @gunflash2020
Unfortunately account access isn't available via this forum.
So your going to need to contact the Vodafone Social Media Team's as they also have a dedicated Credit File Specialist Team who can investigate this.
Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries.
If they find it wasn't warranted then they'll ask the Credit Houses to remove the marker which takes around 30 working days to drop off.
You can also contact one of the Credit Houses i.e Experian to ask them to put a Notice of Correction on your Credit File.
More here Default-on-your-Credit-File-And How-to-add-a-Notice-of-Correction.
I wish you all the best with this.

You say contact someone but you've furloughed all your staff and all you get is recorded messages directing you to make queries online. Even the link you provided is a robot.

Hey gunflash2020,
This is a peer-to-peer forum so can assure you BandofBrothers hasn't furloughed anyone 😁
To be fair, I don't think Vodafone has either, they got their teams working from home pretty quick.
But back to your issue, if you're not having any joy finding what you need then I'd recommend raising a complaint. If you go to www.vodafone.co.uk/complaints and submit all the information, they'll get someone to case manage your issue to resolution and they will call you.
