Moving to the Republic of Ireland

Hey everyone,

I'm moving to Ireland from England and was wondering whether I would be able to use my phone out there (including calls, 4G, texts not on iMessage)? I'm currently on a pay monthly contract.

Sorry if this question has already been posted elsewhere.

Thanks.

Yes you will be able to use it as you have free roaming in Ireland and you can use the phone as if you were in the UK.

But these contracts are not designed for permanent roaming and sooner or later that will cause a problem as Vodafone is likely to restrict your services.

How much longer have you got on your contract? Also remember that Vodafone Ireland is a different network to the UK and if and when you decide to take out a local contract, if you want to use your Vodafone phone you'll need to get it unlocked if it's a locked handset.
