Problem with billing after renewal

Rents78
4: Newbie

I was on a monthly plan at £ 19.68 a month. My billing period is 21th on each month to 20th of the next month. Last charge was for the period 21/10-20/11.

On 4/12 I moved to a new plan, at £36 a month.

Hence billing should have been something along these lines:

- from 21/11 to 4/12 at £19.68, hence ~13 days out of 30= 13/30 * £19.68 = ~£8.50

plus

- from 21/11 to 4/12 at £36, hence ~17 days out of 30= 17/30 * £36 = ~£20.40

For a total of ~ £29

Instead I am being charged around £45, quoting £36 plus some adjustments from the previous account.

Clearly if my billing window remains the same (so next time 20/12), I should only incur in part of the £36 this month (which would instead cover 4/12/2018 to 4/1/2019).
Can someone from Vodafone look into this for me?

Hi @Rents78

If your billing period is 21st to 20th and the last bill received was for November,  before Vodafone will be able to help with your billing enquiry you need to wait until the December bill has been received, you may well find it will be correct.

When you upgrade or change your contract in any way, to bring you in line with the tariff change and billing date, Vodafone will charge on a pro ratered basis for the new price plan crediting back the line rental paid in advance prior to upgrading for your previous tariff.

It should make sense when you have the December bill and at least you will the  have something to go on if you need to contact Customer Services.
