Removal of default notice whilst I was in dispute

Good morning I am trying to resolve and issue with an old account I had I entered into a dispute regarding the old accounts I had whilst in dispute around Aug sep 2018 I was told an amount I was owed however I have been told on numerous occasions it was one amount then another amount I rang in Aug to get a balance which was £675 to then get a debt agency letter stating it was £1150 which I questioned again now trying for a mortgage and low and behold Vodafone have placed a default even though I was in dispute around the amount owed and the amount of bad information I have received constantly it now has come to light that there has always been a broken link with my account that caused this issue in the first place I am

now passed from pillar to post around lots of departments and spending hours on the phone to try and resolve please help me

This will need investigation @Rangerfranky so please let the Vodafone Social Media Team catch up with your thread and they'll bring you in away from the open forum and also probably involve their Credit File Specialist Team to investigate if the default is also warranted.

The golden rule in any dispute is to pay the amount quoted and sort it out later. From what you have written, Vodafone have closed the account due to the outstanding amount and this has resulted with the debt being sold on to a collection agency and they have added interest charges and their own fees.

 

If you have received a letter from an agency, they will be holding the debt and you would need to deal direct with them to settle.

 

However, the credit department may be able to locate the closed account and give an indication of what happened.

I quite agree @AnnS but I can understand @Rangerfranky confusion as they were being given two amounts to pay.

Which amount to choose as both are pretty sizeable chunks of money even to people with disposable income.  :Sad_face:

It's a lot of money to find and pay in one go.  However, we don't know the circumstances, and that's where the credit team come in, if the settlement fee was for early termination charges these can change on a monthly basis.

 

I fully sympathise with the poster, it's an awful situation to be in and do hope there will be clarification.

No reply as yet I rang Vodafone and someone from the team was supposed to Be ringing me back at 12 today and surprise surprise nothing not one phone call I am losing the will to live here after everything I have been through I feel like I am

not worthy of a reply and feel totally let down by Vodafone totally
