Solution

Remove Credit default

Hi - as per many by looks of it, i'm in process in applying for new mortgage and find a vodafone default on my credit history. I tried multiple time to get this resolved in the past but everytime i called Vodafone i was passed from pillar to post with no resolution. Not once could they even find my ever having an account, even when i quote reference numbers on mail i had rec'd from them. After many months replying and being unable to resolve i ignored, the £17 debt then obviously got passed to Lowell debt chasers and again i started the impossible task of trying to find someone to discuss this with and understand where this debt has come from. £17 is not a lot of money and if someone could have ever helped me i would have paid it off..

Since i have no other choice i will take this to the ombudsman, as whenever i speak to vodafone they ask me what me phone number was and i never had one, or they can't find any record against my details and we go around and around in circles again. Can't believe this company has affected my mortgage application now!! absolutely disgusted and can't get to resolution.

Please let the Social Media Team here catch up with your thread and I’m sure they’ll help you further with this.

£17 is such a small amount to warrant affecting a Credit File but that said Vodafone are duty bound to report issues of non payment on a Credit File and do not have to give any forewarning.

I have been long suffering with the same problem - £34 default on a previous vodafone account from 2015. I have spoken to many Vodafone employees who have confirmed over and over that my account has been cleared and no money is owed - and that the credit team have been told to remove the default. But nothing has changed.

I have been denied a business loan today due to this default and it is extremely worrying and frustrating that this can be happening - it must be at least 6 different times Vodafone has told me this is resolved now!!

I have contacted Vodafone UK social media as well as trying to no avail on customer service phone line and online chat.

If anyone could point me in the direction of someone that can help me that would be fantastic.

Hi

I have had a similar situation where a default was placed on my accopunt in September 2013 when my line was disconnected in March 2013 accoridng to myself as that is when i requested the disconnect. The account ran until September 2013 without my knowledge and a default was placed. I was not aware of the default until recently, i even paid the outstanding amount of £125 of line rental charges for an acocunt i assumed was cancelled but Vodafone did not wish to remove the default. This has had a huge impact on my life as i have been refused a mortgage! I understand i should have followed up with Vodafone but we changed address shortly after the closure of the account so even if bills were coming i was not getting them and never got any emails from Vodafone about the outstanding payment!

Can someone plase help?
