S20 Wifi Calling

I've been trying to get WiFi calling set up on my new S20 since last Monday when I first contacted Vodafone. 

 

They said I'd receive a text confirming when it was set up on my account, which I've still not received.

 

Vodafone suggested all sorts of things, none of which have worked and now all communication from them has stopped.

 

I'm now reading that I am not the only one having issues. Has anyone been able to get WiFi calling working and how did you do it?

 

I have 2 pay monthly phones from them but these will be my last contracts unless they can resolve my issue and improve their service level.

 

I'm not impressed with the support from Vodafone.

The phone is very capable of calling over WiFi although I see it hasn't yet been added to the eligible phones in wi-fi-calling yet.

Calling Over WiFi Set up. Ask the agent to force the phone via sending an OTA configuration update that should provision your phone for Calling Over WiFi. 

"Register for Vodafone Wi-Fi Calling

Text the word CALLING to 97888

This is a free text which will add the service to your account

You should receive the following confirmation text:

Thanks. We’ll add Wi-Fi Calling to your account in the next 24 hours and will let you know when you’re all set up.

If you’d like to discuss this with us, or if you have any other issues, you can find more info here or contact us

Once you receive the confirmation text, switch on Wi-Fi Calling in your settings

Go to Settings, scroll down and choose the Application icon

Choose Phone and scroll down until you see Wi-Fi Calling – select the box beside this option

A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm if you want to enable Wi-Fi Calling – tap OK"

If you look at your account details on My Vodafone (I've only done this in the app and don't know about the web version), you should be able to see if wifi calling has been activated.   That won't help with setup, but at least it'll show you that one barrier has been removed.

Just for anyone struggling to get s20 set up for wifi cslling, do persevere with it. I called 191, said wifi calling then explained to the service rep that I had my mobile from mobiles.co.uk and there was no wifi calling in the settings, although it was on om the my vodafone app. The rep had to do a lot of messing about his end he thr sounds of it but he eventually sent some bits to my phone over the air, got me to restart it and low and behold I have it sorted. If vodafone are reading this , please give special thanks to 'Patrick who sorted out my issue today. This was the hurdle that was going to have me return the phone within the 14 days cooling so I'm so grateful its been done. Also, vodafone need to train their staff better  because I have an email from someone who is technical specialist support and they said it wasn't possible 😏

I got my S20 Ultra from John Lewis and the WiFi calling worked without me literally lifting a finger. I must mention, that I was using WiFi calling previously on Vodafone-supplied handset.
