Hello, I have been a Vodafone customer years ago. I ported out and was told the contract was terminated. Many years late I check my credit file to see Vodafone have defaulted it. Put my credit into near enough poor. I contacted Vodafone who accepted ther systems are at fault and for unknown reason the contract was reactivated to random number and I was never informed. About 10 attempts later I was told the account was settled and Vodafone would be removing the default. 3 months later I check my credit file and guess what.. Vodafone default is still there. Iv been so patient with them but it seems they just push the buck on and fob me off. Im going to ask here if anyone can advise  otherwise I have no choice but to approach the financial ombudsmen. Many thanks for your time

The first thing I'd do is contact Experian and ask them to put a Notice of Correction on my Credit File.  The info about this is in this thread which I put together @Imran_karim

Default-on-your-Credit-File-And-How-to-add-a-Notice-of-Correction.

We have a great team called the Vodafone Social Media Team who help people here on the Community Forum but in the case of account issues they need to be contacted by you via the avenues in Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries.

They have a dedicated Credit File Specialist Team who can look at this situation for you.

The last resort would be the Vodafone Complaints option and then if no amicable resolution can be found after 8 weeks Vodafone would need to supply a Deadlock letter and you could speak with the Communication Ombudsman for arbitration.

I appreciate from personal experience how damaging a default can be so I wish you all the best with this situation.

Hi @Imran_karim

When you ported out, although this would have cancelled the contract there may still have been some money owing.

However, until you have been contact with the correct team at Vodafone and they have been able to investigate what has happened, adding anything to your credit file at the point in time may do more harm than good.

There is further information on credit checks with the details of the agencies used on this link:Credit Checks

If adding a Notice of Correction is advisable agencies will be able to give official guidance and advise.

Hi thanks for the reply the account was settled.. It was Evan disconnected. But there systems reconnected it automatically for unknown reasons. They have accepted it is ther fault

Oh no @Imran_karim! This isn't good to hear at all and I understand just how concerning this situation must be for you, especially when your credit file has been affected. We'd love the opportunity to get this investigated and help get things resolved right away. Please contact our team via Facebook at Vodafone UK, or get in touch on Twitter using the handle @VodafoneUK. Don't forget to include the link to this thread, along with your username.

Iv taken your advice and messaged them on Facebook. No reply just yet
