Hello,

My plan ended yesterday and since then I`ve been trying to upgrade to a different one.

However every time I reach the checkout and I fill in my email and mobile number it says there is something wrong and it doesn`t allow me to proceed.

Any idea what`s happening please?

Thank you .

Hi @heross

You need to upgrade through your online account or phone applicsation, otherwise you will be given a new contract with a new number and will have all the trouble of moving the number to the new contract.

Clear your cookies and cache and try and upgrade through your account.  Alternatively, give upgrades a call and upgrade that way, also it may save you money, Vodafone are glad to upgrade customers to a new agreement and you should be able to haggle a little on the price.

Surely thats not true.

I just checked on the Vodafone website that when a contract ends, everything stays the same but it goes on a 30 day rolling contract until you upgrade.

Mine ends in a couple of weeks and with all the rubbish going on in the world at the moment, I'm in no rush to upgrade.

Yes when your contract has run it's initial term it will then go onto a 30 day rolling contract and you'll keep your mobile number. You however may lose any discount that was applied to run for the term of the contract.

When you upgrade then you'll keep the number and be able to choose a new tariff and broker a deal hopefully in regards to the amount you pay i.e another discount.

Or instead go to Sim only if your happy with your phone or Payg.

A person would only get a new number if they opened up a new contract and didn't upgrade.

We sometimes see this when a person gets a contract through a 3rd party as they like the deal there giving instead of going directly through Vodafone to upgrade

However there are ways of moving the original number onto the new contract.

Hope that helps

When your contract reached the end of the minimum term Vodafone should contact you and let you know the best ways to reduce the charges on a monthly basis. Until you are ready to upgrade, I would recommend going SIM only, even if you take out a 12 month contract you will be able to take advantage of the SIM only flexi upgrade option and upgrade after 3 months to a handset contract with Vodafone writing off what remains of the SIM only.  When you contact Vodafone this should be explained to you.

Hi @heross

If your still experiencing issues then customer services on 0333 3040191,  191 or Live Chat can help you with your upgrade.

The Vodafone Social Media Team's via Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries can access your account too.

I wish you all the best with this.
