what is this bill?

Could someone help please?

I've just received a text from Vodafone stating my bill for this month is -£7.69.

I left Vodafone 5/6 years ago at least, and have heard nothing from them in all this time. I got a PAC number back when I left, final bill etc...all done and dusted.

Why have I received this bill please?

ETA: It seems that the credit people still think I have an account with you! Please can someone sort this out. I haven't been with Vodafone for YEARS.

The poster has explained he does not use Facebook or Twitter.

Are you going to offer the poster who needs the help of the forum any direct assistance and alternative way of contacting the Team here on the forum ?

Hey @Janmoo, that's very strange 🤔

So one of our team can take a closer look into this text for you, please get in touch via Facebook at Vodafone UK, or contact us on Twitter using the handle @VodafoneUK. One of our Credit File specialists will be able to see if this has affected your credit file in any way too.

Please also provide a link to this thread, along with your username; this will save time and we’ll be able to help you faster.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm not on twitter or facebook.

I used livechat last night, and was told I'd be refunded the credit on my account and my account would be closed.

I will wait and see if this happens.

But the point is my account should have been closed years ago when I left. It's pretty outrageous that it wasn't closed at the time and even more outrageous that there is any chance it could affect my credit rating. I'm clearly not the only one this has happened to either. What are Vodafone playing at?

Anyway, I realise it's not your fault, it's just immensely frustrating.

I also can't log in to my account as I don't have a registered phone, so I have no way of knowing if it has been closed or not.

Is there are way of getting in touch other than twitter or facebook? I thought that's what this forum was for?

Unfortunately account access is no longer available via the forum @Janmoo

But it's the same Social Media Teams here that help and assist via Facebook and Twitter.

Things have changed as they have decided that help and assistance with account based issues would be best supported that way.

I appreciate not everyone wants to use Social Media however it takes but a few moments to create a Twitter account and then can be forgotten if necessary. Just a thought.

I'm thinking the -£ possibly could mean your actually in credit. That's what a minus usually means so yes they should refund the credit.

If this is the case then it wouldn't adversely affect your Credit Score.

The use of a Pac will have closed the account. Something has obviously glitched with Vodafone systems and I'm sure once they gave a route to return the funds owed to you this would end the situation.

I wish you all the best with this situation.

Hi @Janmoo

I notice you cancelled your account and moved to your new provider June 2015 and were advised at the time your account was around £7.00 in credit.  If you had left the direct debit in place until the final 0.00 bill had been received, Vodafone would have credited the amount direct to your account.  I suspect all Vodafone need is an account to repay the money they owe you.

The Team here will no longer help or assist anyone who does not use Facebook or Twitter, if you need further help it will mean talking to live chat or going the complaints route here :Code of Practice.  At least this way you will receive the customer service you should have received from the Team on this forum.

We're still helping our customers over our Social Media channels @AnnS, the customer service stays the exact same and we're still doing our best to help with queries.
