'com.android.phone has stopped' error with new SIM but not with Vodaphone one

Trying to unlock a Galaxy A3. As soon as I insert the new SIM card from another network, it constantly pops the error message 'Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped'.

Force stopping and clearing data and cache from the three Phone apps in Apps Manager makes no difference even after restart. As soon as I insert back the original Vodaphone SIM card its all fine and no error notification. Any suggestions?

A very last option I can think of is to back up and factory reset @Edgefs

But obviously I cannot guarantee that would resolve the matter.

Thanks for contacting us @Edgefs. I've not seen this error before šŸ¤” I've taken a quick look and found a few troubleshooting steps:

  • Check for system updates. Being on a lower version could be causing your issue, go to Settings > About phone > System Update to update your phone.
  • Factory reset as @BandOfBrothers advised

I'm sorry I couldn't be of any more help - have you contacted Samsung to see if they can shed any light on this?
