Vodafone Sure Signal

Device exploded

My Vodafone Sure signal device exploded and no longer works.

I heard a very loud bang and when I looked all lights were off and

the top half of the casing was blown open.

How do I get this replaced?

Hi @lamlash

That's not good at all !

How long have you owned the SS ?

From 1 July 19 the terms and conditions for Sure Signal changed. For any customer buying a Sure Signal from this date onwards, the warranty on the device and the guarantee of service has moved from two years to one year.

Also the Sure Signal will no longer be available for purchase from 30 April 2020 as Vodafone are now moving towards Vodafone Calling Over Wi-Fi which is a newer option.

They will however replace a SS that is still under warranty.

Hi BoB, thanks for the reply. I purchased the suresignal V3

4th May 2018 so looks like I'm screwed. I do however see this as a

health and safety issue regardless of the warranty date. This could have caused a fire.

These things have been blowing up for years, it's a well known issue but nothing has really ever been done about them. It's definitely a health and safety issue but as it only usually happens after the warranty has ran out Vodafone seem to just run their hands together as it means another sale.

As for Wifi calling, maybe when Vodafone catch up with the 21st century and offer Wifi texting too then it may actually be a viable alternative.

You're very welcome @lamlash

It won't harm to ask customer services.

That would be the option to use due to Vodafone not selling the Sure-Signal devices anymorem
