For version 1 Sure Signal (the one with four lights on the front):
The reset button needs to be held in throughout this entire process
- Press and hold down the reset button for 30 seconds
- The LED’s flash once from top LED to bottom LED in sequence
- Continue to hold in the reset button and remove the power cable from the VSS for 10 seconds
- Keep the reset button held in and plug the power cable back into the VSS
- Wait for the LEDs to flash once from top LED to bottom LED in sequence
- You can now release the reset button
For version 2 Sure Signal (the one with 3 lights on the front):
- Factory reset is performed by pressing the reset button for 30 seconds with the power cable plugged in. you will see the LED flash in sequence 1, 2, 3 then go out.
- Release the reset button (there is no need to remove the power cable for this model)
- The device will now go into a predefined setup sequence which can take anywhere between 20 minutes to 6 hours depending on the speed of the customers connection
For version 3 Sure Signal (the plug in version):
There are 3 stages of use for the reset button as follows:
- Hold the reset button in for 5 seconds then release. This will result in a reset
- Holding the button for 10 or more seconds will result in the sure signal being switched off.
- The device can be turned back on by either pressing the reset button again or unplugging the device for 30 seconds and plugging it back in again
A full factory reset of a VSS will take anywhere between 20 minutes to six hours to complete and fully reconnect to the network.
