Sure signal v3 - dead after 18 months use

Hi,

I purchased a Sure Signal in December 2015 for my Mother, as she found she had little or no Vodafone signal at home despite the coverage checker saying she should receive full coverage.

Now, 18 months down the line, the Sure Signal has completely failed, dead, no lights - nothing. There is also something now rattling around inside the unit so guess something has blown.

Been into a Vodafone store today with it, and been told the device is out of warranty so they cannot book it in for repair. I have to say I think it very poor that the Sure Signal isn't even reliable enough to last the length of my Mum's 24 month phone contract !!!

Had an online chat with Customer Services this evening, and been told the device IS under warranty, and to call back tomorrow between 8am-6pm. Wish me luck 😞

Eddie,

Sounds like someone in VF actually knows the warranty is 2 years, not 1 !   As you say, good luck, but do please also check the two threads in my signature below.  This is a known problem which gsmsecure is working hard to get Vodafone to properly address, so your input to Trading Standards and Watchdog would be appreciated.

I'm also trying to build up data on failures so can you post:

- date of first installation & use

- date of failure

- serial number

- symptoms of failure

Thanks

The rattling is probably the top of the "fuse" - see photos in my post http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Vodafone-Sure-Signal/Suresignal-V3-Overheated-Blew-Up-Exploded-Hot-Bu...

Thanks for your speedy reply cliff_g

I'll add my comments to the Trading Standards and Watchdog pages, to hopefully add some more weight to forcing Vodafone to sort these issues out !

The additional info you requested is below,

- date of first installation & use - 22/12/15

- date of failure - 13/08/17

- serial number - 42151633791

- symptoms of failure - Unit completely dead, no lights, unresponsive to reset button, rattle from inside casing (probably the top of the blown fuse as you suggest).

Many Thanks.

You boys having fun here?
