You should improve the feedback of your form, and why is an artifical suspension been placed, because of inactivity? That makes no technical sense in the slightest. What's to stop you from removing the record, and adding as a new? or most likely, setting the boolean to false.

Hi Porkpie,

 

When it comes to the suspension of the original Sure Signals, the reason for this could be a number of things including a security patch that was supplied.

 

Unfortunately once the sure signal is in this state we are unable to remove the suspension on the Sure Signal.

 

As this was purchased second hand and replacement would need to be obtained by the original owner.

 

@ tonytango, I have taken a look at this for you and can confirm that the number you have provided has now been added to the Sure Signal for you.

Hello I bought a suresignal second hand, the previous user deregistered it. I've spent nearly a month trying to get it work and register it on the site and i get this error.

I have taken a look at the Sure signal serial number for you and can see that the Sure Signal is currently showing as suspended.

 

Unfortunately due to this you will not be able to register the device.

 

As you aren’t the original owner you will need to ask them to contact us directly to arrange a replacement, who will then be able to send this over to you.

 

Unfortunately we are unable to remove it from this state.

Hello,

 

I can't register my Sure Signal. I have filled in and confirmed my postcode and proceeded to the next step - "Account Setup". I have entered my serial number of 40112034349 and I receive the following message:

 

"Sorry, we're having a technical problem at the moment. Please try again in a few minutes"

 

I have tried again in a few minutes, and now I'm 24 hours later and getting the same result. I have tried two different computers (Windows 7 Pro 32-bit and 64-bit) with Firefox 11 and IE 9 on each with no better luck. Any ideas?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if you could advise me a little about a Sure Signal box I've been given. (Serial No: 21223468048). I've tried registering it, but got the error message about online problems. I kept getting this over the course of a week so I tried calling the helpline. They then advised me that the Sure Signal had been suspended but couldn't give me reasons why, or what I could do to unsuspend it?

Basically, is there any way in which I can get the box working? I notice in previous posts, your admin members advise on getting the original owner to do something (but all the advice was given by pm unfortunately for me), this wouldn't be a problem so any help you can give would be appreciated!

I now have my Sure Signal ( 40110917768 ) up and working great for my number.  I'd now like to add my wife's number (ends in 9065 and is on the same account) to my sure signal but I'm getting the dreaded "Sorry, we're having a technical problem at the moment. Please try again in a few minutes. If you keep seeing this message, please contact us through the help centre." message.

 

What is the best way to get here number added?

Hi, having similar problems to the above user:

 

I have a registered Sure Signal box, myself as Admin. When I try to add my dad's number I get:

Serial Number *21224469946 Status appears as Active.

Me too! Upgraded to iPhone 4s on Wednesday. Was the registered VSS owner, couldn't get the new phone to latch onto the VSS, so deregistered and re-registered with husband as owner. Added me as user. Got SMS on my phone confirming me as user. Then got home to find neither phone worked with the VSS. Deregistered him, re-registered me as owner, got my phone back on but now can't add him and getting the dreaded technical error message. Nice lady in Egypt says she's left a message for the team that deals with it but it's Easter ...

At least we have 1 phone capable of making calls without having to walk the 2 miles to the closest point with a signal. Glad to know its not just us but it's driving us mad!!!!

VSS serial number 21197186378 for what it's worth. Don't you dare do anything that buggers up the one phone that is registered!!

Thank you for the help.  I now see her number listed (with country code 44 in front) as a user on Manage Users page but can't get her phone to pick up the VSS.  She has a SGS2 just like me and works elsewhere just fine.  I've tried the following:

 

- Power cycle VSS

- Reset VSS with Reset button

- Phone restarted

- Phone switched between Flight mode

- Location change on website.

- Every combination of the above I can think of

 

Each time my phone reconnects back to the VSS just fine but her phone struggles to find a signal.  Thanks in advance.
