E71 Hanging and then flashing bright and switching off.

Hi,

I have a Nokia E71 on a SIM only contract with Vodafone. The handset has recently been playing up in that it will hang, then the screen flashes really bright and the phone then goes off, then it fires up again and goes through the same cycle a few times and may finally stop and work again.

I know this phone is old but I really like it and it does all I want from a phone.

I did replace the battery with a Nokia replacement from Amazon some months ago which is the only change to the phone.

I would be grateful for any ideas..?

Hi

I would suggest cleaning the storage memory by deleting unused apps, read emails, music etc. 

Then create a back up to preserve your wanted saved data and perform a Factory Reset from its settings or google how to perform a Hard Reset for your model of phone. 

Ensure your on the most latest available firmware. 

If it continues then if out of warranty you'll need to ask yourself wether it's time to find a replacement.
