I have a Lumia 550, unable to send / receive MMS

I have spent 1 hour on the phone to tech support from home phone  - no fix

I have spent 1 hour on the phone to tech support via 191 - no fix

I have been into shop - No Fix

It is apparent that MMS is not available on this device and therefore you are mis selling the device.

What can you do to fix this and before you ask about APN settings please dont, I have changed them soo many times with all your engineers and nothing

Thanks

Yes, it can be done its just getting the right person ! Sorry to go on but have you thoroughly checked the apn settings as per the link in @BandOfBrothers link above?

Hi

Yes I have set these numerous occasions, I just cant see where a "special" setting is as loathsome to return to the shop again for tehm to fiddle again and get no where I am lost :O(

Have you considered in the interim....

Viber.

WhatsApp.

email.

These do not cost anything to use however Whatsapp and Viber need to be used by the recipient too.

Mms are chargeable thus do not come out of a tariff texting allowance.

Hi yes can use What App which is fine but not all my contacts have the same apps.

I realise MMS costs but obv the phone is meant to provide SMS/MMS by default so I am stuck and probabbly will throw the phone as far away as I can after I have oblitorated it with a hammer !!!!

Appreciate you wanting this feature.

MMS sending is important to some.

I use iMessage to other iPhone owners and email to others.

Hi @ajsb

The information you have been given on this thread is all correct and the best way to get this resolved.

You can speak to our Live Chat team here.

But this may be easier sorted in store as the in store staff can look at it with you.

Thanks,

Sarah

Just checked my settings on Lumia 930

Username = WAP (not web as in the link)

Password = WAP  (not web as in the link)

Also make sure the proxy server is 212.183.137.12

and not the old 212.183.137.012

For some reason the added zero on the end can mess things up!

Hope that helps?

@ sarah

Thanks for the usual Vodafone advice, I spent an hour on the phone with tech support 2 weeks ago, no resolution. I sent an hour in store with tech support no resolution. I spent anotehr hour with chat online no lcuk, all they were concerned about was to verify my name an dmobile number.... dohhhhh
