Vodafone Scam

My partner received a notification from the app the other day saying she had a free gift, once clicking on this she never received anything, she contacted Vodafone for them to say it was not them and must be a scam as Vodafone have not sent her anything. She then had various charges added to her account. I have just had the same notification from the actual Vodafone app, I have attached images. Can someone please advise if this is fake or not as I do not want charges added to my account

Hi @chrissywilkie

Customer Services should be in a position to know the offers given through the My Vodafone Application.  It will be a genuine gift and offer from Vodafone especially if it's attached to the My Vodafone Application and you should only need to follow the link to claim the offer.

The free Costa coffee or cake was offered previously to selected customers, will be up to a maximum price and you should receive a follow up email or text with a voucher to take to Costa to redeem the offer.

Not sure of the other offer, but it's likely to be the cake from Costa.

Please see the link below for the previous offer.

I will try and find out some further information and get back to the thread.

Hi @chrissywilkie

Here is a link to the terms.

I hope that clarified this is a genuine offer and not a scam and there is no reason to be concerned.

Hi @chrissywilkie

Nowadays these types of scams do look professional and are made to look to come from a business.

As a rule of thumb if I receive anything like this I always come away from that source and not click on anything and instead navigate to the sites of the network or app I trust to see if I have anything pending there.

Some info in > Vodafone - our-privacy-policy/protecting-our-customers/phishing.

Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra 512gb Phantom Black.

To add your wife could use the following help site to identify the company and pursue a refund.
