Wait or Apple store...

So, I phoned Vodafone to order @ 9ish, got my call back at 11.30, went through the upgrade but as others found I got no confirmations.
So I went online and upgraded after 12. Around this time I went on the apple site and reserved a phone for store pickup on the 19th.

My query is, if I hadn't upgraded with Vodafone (or I was to cancel my upgrade with them now) would the apple store be able to upgrade me in store as long as Vodafone see me as eligible?

Thoughts?
