iPhone 4 no 3G since last update

updated my software a few days ago and no longer have 3G. have reset mobile data network settings but still doesn't work. Can anyone help?

Hi

 

Is it connecting to Mobile data at all. 

 

Ie 2G etc 

 

Does this happen everywhere or just in one location. If one location check your masts. 

 

Can you please check if you've not already done so what the Vodafone Network Mast Status Checker is reporting for your area.

Your masts may show as OK so Please also use the Zoom out feature in the map to check surrounding masts for issues.

If everywhere then try texting WEB to 40127 for the APN's.

no mobile data at all. in several different locations.

 

zoomed map and show ok. sent WEB txt and installed settings. get "The authenticity of "PAYG WAP" cannot be verified"

 

Still no 3G (or "3G" displayed top left).

 

Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data set ON

Settings > Mobile Data > Enable 3G set ON

These are the APN settings from GeekSquad. 

 

Pay attention to the specific settings for Payg and pay monthly. 

 

Tap Settings.
In the first section tap Mobile Data/Cellular Data.
Tap Mobile Data Network/Cellular Data Network.
Enter the following settings into the onscreen form, without changing any other settings;
Mobile/Cellular Data:
APN - internet (PAYG - pp.vodafone.co.uk)
Username - web (PAYG - wap)
Password - web (PAYG - wap)
Visual Voicemail:
MMS:
APN - internet (PAYG - pp.vodafone.co.uk)
Username - web (PAYG - wap)
Password - web (PAYG - wap)
MMSC - http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy - 212.183.137.12:8799
MMS Max Message Size - 307200
(As a check, the image below shows blue text in the fields you should have completed)
Tap the left arrow at the top three times
Press the home button
On the status bar at the top of the screen, next to the name of your mobile network, you should now see a data connection indicator 4G, 3

Process of elimination: Can you try you're Sim card in another phone to rule out either the Sim or Account or Phone which may be at fault.

Have you tried your SIM card in another phone?

will take another look tomorrow. wife has exactly same phone/settings as me and no 3G either

the only other phone I have access to is my wife's and her 3G doesn't work either?

 

doesn't vodafone have any diagnostics?
