iPhone 6plus

Hey I got a iPhone 6plus from Vodafone in November 2015, I upgraded to the 7plus and put my iPhone 6plus back in the box away.
I've opened the box and tried to turn it on so I could give it to my sister and it just won't turn on..
I've been to apple and they have told me that they won't replace it due to it being over 12months old. They also said that under consumer law Vodafone are liable to fix the phone with it being under 24months old?
Does anyone know anything about this?

Hi,

What did Apple try to reboot it.

Vodafone would probably refer you to the 12 month manufacturing warranty too.

As per https://support.vodafone.co.uk/Account-bill-and-top-up/Lost-stolen-and-damaged/Warranty-and-insuranc...

Apple has a help page http://www.apple.com/uk/legal/statutory-warranty/

Some info in http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-rights-act

Look at the page labelled as Repairs and Replacements the After 6 Months section.

Other options are home insurance cover and or some bank accounts have Mobile phone cover as a perk of the account. T&c and excess fees would need to be checked.

Just to add Apple do offer an Out of Warranty service at a cost.
