Have you possibly checked that the problem numbers have not been accidentally added to any text blocking facility within the phone.

Yes i have checked and the shop assistant checked. Not blocked unfortunately

Process of elimination: Can you perhaps try your Sim in another phone to rule out either the Sim or Phone which may be at fault.

If you visit your local Vodafone store, they will be able to try your SIM in another phone for you.
If the phones still having the same issues, the store can also arrange for it to be sent off for repair.
