Hi there,

My VSS stopped working yesterday.  I have tried re-starting and following other procedures I have seen on here but nothing has sorted it.

I now have a red flashing light, solid orange service and in use light.

It has a couple of times started the white glowing light on the internet light but just goes back to flashing red.

serial number is 40131970739.

Anyone help please?

thanks!

Hi

These may help.

Vodafone-Sure-Signal-troubleshooting.

Look ok at the issue not listed part to repost your traceroute.

Sure Signal FAQs.

It may also be worth trying a different power supply with the SureSignal (Version 1 & 2 ), as there have been some reports of replacement power supplies solving the issues. Even if lights / power are showing. They are available on eBay for around £10.

From member cineriv "But firstly, have a look around for a suitable unit with a 12 Volt output @ around 1.5Amp capacity that you could 'borrow' to prove the fault. Suitable units can be found on external hard drives, monitors, printers, routers etc.etc."

Sorry just checked - sure signal is active on VF logg in page.

Whats the next step, does it need re-registering?

Vodafone please help.

Thanks - details here:

I also called VF and they said it would be up and running in an hour - a couple of hours ago!!

@spicjt

The Sure Signal is registered and the IP address is fine.

I notice that you're using a BT HomeHub, so please ensure the Smart Setup is disabled in your router settings.

Please also ensure the required ports are open and then perform a reset.

Thanks @DaveCD - seems to be working now after another re-boot and I also changed the ethernet cable.

Cheers
