Hi – just got the message on the eforum re home Hub 4:

"For those of you still having connection issues with Vodafone Sure Signal and BT Home Hub 3, you can contact BT directly for an upgrade for Home Hub 4."

I have just spoken to BT and because I am a Business Broadband user the Home Hub 4 won’t work with my setup so I need to wait for Home Hub 5 which is out next year sometime!

I am just coming up to having NO phone signal in my own house for a year……………… and I still have to wait for possibly another year.

Appalling.

Regards

Hi williamz0,

Can you check with BT again as the Home Hub 5 is showing as available on their website?

Let us know how you get on,

Kay

Just to update my previous post where Vodafone are suggesting we upgrade to Home Hub 4 which will work with SureSignal, in October I contact BT and BT Business Broadband users cannot use the Home Hub 4 as it will not work with the Business package.

I was told Home Hub 5 would work with BT Business Broadband users and just checked and this is available.

Just spoken to BT Business re getting an upgrade to HH5 and have been told that the home Hub 5 ALSO will not work with BT Business Broadband users....

They are however working on a new Home Hub for business users but no idea when this new router wil be released.

So I am now into 18 monthswith no Vodafone mobile phone signal to my home office. And a Sure Signal box sitting here doing nothing.

Very very frustrated.

Hi williamz0,

We've continued to work closely with BT to both identify the issue with the Home Hub 3 and to ensure later versions work with the Sure Signal. We'll keep doing so as they're a popular provider and router.

What we can't do is guarantee they'll work with BT's own services. This would be down to their systems.

Dave

Hi - still no joy here with BT. HomeHub 4 won't work with BT Business Broadband so I need to wait until HH5 is released which could be anytime and BT Support are very vague about when.....

Could I use another router to replace the the HH3? I have a Draytek  Vigor2820n here that I used before moving to BT. Will this work with Fibre?

Into 21 MONTHS now with no phone signal at home...

Hi williamz0

You can certainly try using another router. Did you manage to test it at a different location as Ben suggested?

Thanks

Sukhi

Hi Sukhi - I think I discussed this with Ben at the time albeit it was a while ago.

It's simply not practical to:

  1. Find a friendly neighbour willing to let me plug SS into their router.
  2. Then hope they are willing enough for me to login to their router control panel and make changes, switching off ports etc etc.

Hi williamz0

We're only going to be able to see if the device is faulty once it's tried in another location.

This can be a friend or family members even if they have good coverage.

Hi haven't used my Huawei Sure Signal for a while. Switched from Orange to BT fibre with a Hub3. Steady system light but creates a no signal environment for phones registered. Help please? Serial number 40110908015

Hi Bobblehat,

From what I can see everything looks fine other than a location profile change that is being detected.

To remedy this you will need to log into your online account and change the postcode on the Sure Signal dashboard to ST1 5GP and then back to your own postcode.

After doing this please turn the Sure Signal off for 10 minutes and switch it back on.

Give this a go and let me know how you get on.

James
