Superfast 2 Static IP

Can someone clarify if Superfast2 is supposed to be static IP ?

I updated from Superfast 1 with static IP so assumed ( you no what they say about assume!) that SF2 with also have a static IP available.

My SF2 keep dropping out and every time it connects I get a different external IP address.

Is this as expected of SF2 or ?

Note: there was a huge delay in upgrading from SF1 to SF2 because I was told I was going to "Pro" but I don't have the 4G backup and am only paying the normal SF2 price ( not PRO price) so assume its SF2 home not Pro.

Very frustrating !

My Superfast 2 isn't static but then I don't want it to be. Static IPs are available but have to be requested like on Superfast 1.

As you say if you have one and upgrade it's reasonable to expect it to still be present, but this is Vodafone.

I think you can just request one via chat.

None of our services include a static IP address @PeterGillham2, if you'd like to have one set up on your account, this would need to be added separately. If you upgrade or change your package, this is usually added automatically at the point of sale. If this hasn't been done here, it sounds like the adviser may have not spotted that you're currently using a static IP, apologies for this oversight. Not to worry though, we can get this sorted for you 👍 Just pop us a private message via Facebook at Vodafone UK, or on Twitter using the handle @VodafoneUK and we'll get it sorted. Just remember to include your Community ID and a link to this thread to avoid you having to repeat yourself.

By default, Vodafone doesn't issue its users with Static IP addresses.  However, if you want one, it's in your contract that you can request one free of charge!

Personally, I prefer the little extra security that comes from having a dynamic WAN IP, and you can still always use a DDNS service.
