No or very slow 4G throughput in Bracknell RG12 9AJ Larges Bridge Drive

There’s 4 bars of signal but no throughput of data what so ever. Issue started today both a friend an I experience the same issue independently several times today. 4G works fine in other areas of Bracknell

Hey @JackRussell Thanks for sending those details over. I've checked all three of the masts surrounding you;

- 76791

- 76546 (The mast you are connected to) 

- 82572

There are no issues or downtime on any of the cells. There is however scheduled maintenance for October and November on all 3 sites which is to improve the quality and capacity of the network in the area. 

 

As there is no evidence to suggest a network issue currently, we will need you to fill n the Network Queries Template and provide 3 screenshots of your speeds over the next 24 hours which show the time the tests were run. Please run the tests on speedtest.net 

Once we have all of this information we can look into raising a network case so our engineers can investigate the masts and cells in more detail.

Hi @JackRussell. I've taken a look at the postcode you've provided and the coverage is good indoors and outdoors across 2G, 3G, and 4G. There is no 5G coverage in your area at the moment. I've also taken a look at the specific mast you connect to (No. 76546) and there is no downtime or maintenance. You're able to check any maintenance in your postcode at any time by entering it into our Network Status Checker here

I would recommend trying the SIM in another phone to see if the issue still persists. If it does, please complete the Network template here and we can investigate further 🙂

RG12 9AJ 4 bars of 4G yes but zero data through-put using a speed test in that place

Using exactly the same phone at RG12 1EN I get through-put of 75Meg.

This issue needs a deeper look at the data through-put from the cell tower not just a 4G signal strength check.

 

I’ll walk the area again and get its cell details

Issue continues in new topic RG12 - Bracknell which template and screen shot details

1) Does the issue happen in just one location? If so, how far do you have to travel to regain service?

 

Issue happens in specific locations in cell 568084

 

2) What is the full postcode (e.g. ST1 1AA) of where the issue occurs? If you don't want this showing on the Community, add it to your profile here.

 

One location where it occurs is (51.4104119, -0.7432006) then if I walk from there north up Larges Lane Drive over the railway then west along Mount Pleasant it still has no data.

 

3) Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone?

 

The issue happens on my phone and two others of friends and work perfect fine in other places so it’s not my SIM

 

4) What errors are seen or heard when the issue occurs?

 

The specific issue is there is loads of 4G strength at 3 or 4 bars but no data through put to even do a speed test. In fact it time out saying no internet.

 

5) Does this happen on 2G, 3G, 4G or all?

 

No idea but phone says 4G and cell is 568084

    

6) When did you first notice this issue?

 

About 4 or 5 days ago

 

7) Is the issue permanent or intermittent? If intermittent, are there certain times of the day when it occurs?

 

Permanent.

Despite 3 bars of 4G there is not enough data speed to do a speed test.

(Yes speed test on my phone does work in other areas)

Please feel free to ask me to go to any specific locations or be any cells and I’ll speed test from there for you and add results back here.

Thanks @JackRussell This is all perfect. Once I have 3 screenshots over a 24 hour period I can raise a case for you 🙂 Just make sure there are several hours between the speed tests so it gives a better picture of your network quality throughout a day.
