Well who'd of thought.......

"Fairy lights could 'slow' wi-fi speeds warns Ofcom"

"Christmas tree lights can slow your wi-fi warns watchdog Ofcom as it releases an app that can check home broadband.
The app samples wireless signals to see if data is flowing uninterrupted from routers to phones and tablets.

The app is released alongside research which suggests wi-fi in six million homes and offices is not running as fast as it could do.
The app also provides tips to help people spot what might be slowing down their wi-fi speed.

Interference could come from other electronic devices such as baby monitors, microwaves or Christmas fairy lights, said Ofcom in a statement."

Mine are very close to the router, so don't think it's that.

I've tried several times to get the app working, I even factory reset the Virgin Superhub.
The app just says it cannot show results...?

(I won't diversify this thread with my VM Wi-Fi woes, I am dealing directly with their forum and working through their help ideas 😉 )

I like to look around for ways of improving what I have already in regards to Wifi signal etc.

We all know theirs lots of tips around and theirs some good sound ones in this link from BBC LINK 10-ways-to-make-the-wi-fi-in-your-house-more-powerful

Not thought of tin foil behind the Router to reflect Wifi.

Normally just wear my tin foil hat 🤐

This is mostly to do with those lights that are set to chase or fade in and out which involves the circuitry pulsing which is no doubt what causes the problem.

It apparently can affect ADSL too, best just leave them on a static setting.
