"More intriguingly, the Journal quotes anonymous sources claiming the new iPhone would ditch Apple's proprietary Lightning connection for USB-C. USB cables for syncing and charging are standard across the mobile industry, but Apple has always stuck with its own charging connection. Shifting to USB-C would be a huge move for Apple."
My Thoughts.
Technology moves with the times.
Who knows maybe Apple will have yet another adapter cable in the box

About time too! I seem to have a drawer full of Lightning connectors that have come with bits of equipment - from time to time I pass on a handful to a friend who does carboots, but it would be nice if the tide stopped!

I agree.
Unfortunately those that use assessories that attach to an iPhone/ ipad may think differently. Docks etc.
USB-C is the way forward.
