A simple and free new download speed monitor for mobile devices that some people may be interested in whether of not you are a Netflix customer or not is called "Free"
It is a basic app that only gives the download speed but it is quick and I have tried it by comparing it with the Ookla app and it is pretty accurate and within 1.5Mbps of the Ookla reading.
