To many residents of Great Britain, a favorite topic of conversation is the weather. However, recently the extreme weather we have been facing caused communication in the most remote places of Scotland no end of trouble. Masts were frozen, dishes were misaligned and through it all a brave team of engineers fought to get us all back talking.
Vodafone social has caught up with Vodafone UK’s Head of Networks in the north, Dan Raine, to explain how the bad weather can cause some severe issues for our network. Then they speak to Iain Macleod, the man who they turn to when somebody needs to fix a remote mast in the Highlands when 100mph winds have knocked a dish out of whack.
