Hi,

Just received new Vodafone router. All my Sonoff switches have stopped working and gone off line. Set up 2.4 MHz, same SSID and PW.  NO different. Set up new ewelink account and tried to pair the devices again. quick and compatible modes. Nothing.   Why will the devices not see the new "much bigger" router in quick pair mode......

Will go back to old router if no solution.

If the router (presumably the THG3000) is using channel 12 or 13 for the 2.4Ghz WiFi, that might be the reason.

You can see what channel the router is using in the router interface under Status & Support (scroll down to see). If it's 12 or 13 on 2.4Ghz that is possibly the problem.

Cant help much sorry, other than to say I had endless issues with my Vodafone THG3000 router, including some Sonoff and Shelly devices (which I’m moving to from Sonoff). You can’t even change the WiFi channel, which is just insane. It’s got a reasonable modem built into it, but as a WiFi router it’s rubbish. I’m holding onto it in the hope the one day add a bridge mode to the firmware, buts it’s highly unlikely they will.

Bought an Asus router and modem, and while the speeds are a bit slower with the new modem, my new network runs like a dream.

thanks for that. yep new router back in the box in the shed.  Back to old router.

Hi there,

For any future comers to this post, I managed to get my Sonoff RE5V1C 5v wifi inching/self-lock relay module working despite my Vodafone router throwing a spanner into my works.

What I noticed is that each time I try registering the switch, the router logs this activity with an error code. The error code was simply the firewall, so I disabled the firewall and was able to register. For the sake of security, I reenabled the firewall after registering and the switch kept working. Once you log in to the router dashboard, the event log can be found under the Status & Support tab > Event Log.

Hope this helps.

Note: I haven't tried this method, but the error log also contains the MAC address of the switch so adding and allowing that MAC address from the Settings tab > MAC Filter menu in your dashboard may also help register the switch.

Note: Router firmware may vary, so the dashboard tabs/submenus could be different, but there should be something similar...

MAC filtering is unlikely to make a difference.  It's usually only there to specifically ban or allow specific MAC addresses onto the network (allow being awkward because it often means that you then need to allow ALL connecting devices - if you're not allowed, you're not coming in!).

Keep us updated though, I'm interested in finding out what happens if you have an extended power outage!
