"WiFi " & "WiFi 2" Signal Strengths

My "Wifi " and "WiFi 2" signal strengths seem to be quite different.

"WiFi 2" is  showing as 100% = 4 bars on the router bar chart, Whereas" WiFi " is weak (2bars only) on both 2.4 and 5.0 GHz access points.

I have a problem with a device on the slower connection. Obviousy I should now try it on  "WiFi ",  but is the router cracking up?

Q2   If a specific device is not suitable for a 5.0 Gz WIFi service and I have my services set "2.4 / 5.0 GHz"  do I need to set the service to 2.5 GHZ , or can I leave it "2.4 / 5.0".  Will the device work it out by itself>

As requested above images show WiFi and Channels. I must admit I do not understand either. In the BEST CHANNEL image it shows Ch 10, 11 & 12 as no-go. On the WiFi image it shows my router centered on Ch 11 and -63db.

The app is designed to show you what channel would be best to use for a new setup.

It's saying not to use 11, as there are already very strong signals on it, but as they are yours it is meaningless in your scenario.

Thanks for the latest pics, however as far as I can tell, they show Wi-Fi and Wi-fi 2 as exactly the same strengths so was the original query a red herring?

If so, just what problem are you trying to resolve?

I am thinking I should try setting SPLIT CHANNELS on the router, then cahnging the Auto to a fixed channel for this specific device issue. I found a Vodafone document ref vfcon090504.pdf which describes how to set up split channels.

Is it possible that if i switch into Split Channels all my home devices will fail to work?

Once the router has been provisioned you have no control over the wifi except the ssid and passwords. Write down what you want to change then disconnect the router's WAN and reset it. Once it's rebooted log back in again and change what you want to change then when you've finished just reconnect the WAN.

OK, OK !  Thanks to all.  I want to close the case now.  My son bought me a RING door bell/camera for Xmas. It works fine, but complains after a couple of weeks that the wifi signal is weak and stops working occasionally. Shortly the 'free of charge' Cloud service that stores recordings expires after initial 30 days and RING want £ 38 per annum to keep the recordings.

A great piece of American marketing that I don't need !
