4G on Pixel 7 pro

I have a new Pixel 7pro but according to Vodaphone website it won't do 4G calling. Surely this can't be right.

Is there an indicator that shows what 'G' i am logged into?

Yes, that's exactly what it means. If you didn't have VoLTE working you would see it drop to 3G whilst on a call and back to 4G when you hang up.

Ok, thanks for that it's interesting information. Why couldn't the Vodafone people just have said that?

Institutional Incompetence? Many years ago it may have been true and that "Must buy direct" was correct, but that mentality is still there, possibly due to commission based sales. Vodafone staff give out incorrect information all the time, and their management don't seem to care.

Ok, I've been patient as requested but it's been over a month now. So maybe time for an answer?

I can see why Vodafone customer service scores so low...

It is an available feature on that device. Try and follow the steps here to set up VoLTE on your device.

If it's already setup, sometimes 4G calling isn't pulled through as a line item on our system. You could call 191 to check it's on your services or reach out to our social media team  here.

Yes, the inability to do 4G calling on your Pixel 7pro might be due to a compatibility issue with Vodaphone's network. As for the indicator, most smartphones display the current 'G' icon near the signal strength, allowing you to identify the network you are connected to.

I understand what you are saying however 4G calling is a capability of the phone as evidenced by Pixel 7 Pro devices purchased directly from Vodafone working correctly.

Have you tried a SIM swap?

Yes, an indicator on your phone shows what 'G' network you are connected to. Typically, it appears near the signal bars, and it may display "4G," "LTE," "3G," or "2G," depending on the available network technology in your area. Suppose your Pixel 7pro is not supporting 4G calling on the Vodafone network. In that case, you should check your phone settings and ensure you select the correct network mode. Additionally, consider contacting Vodafone customer support for further assistance or to confirm whether their website information is accurate.

I did contact customer support. They were hopeless. Got me contact them on twitter, took loads of information. Then forgot about me. When I dm'd them again they had no idea about the previous long back and forth over dm'm. Worst service ever. Shockley bad.
