1gb broadband modem setup problem on Windows 7 pc

I am having a problem setting up my 1G USB stick on a brand new Windows 7 pc.
The software setup starts automatically; "setup_vmc_lite.exe" & the InstallShield Wizard run ok; then the following text window appears:- "Error 2738. Could not access VBScript runtime for custom action". The setup is then halted and aborted. The pc recognises the USB stick as Huawei.
Please can someone tell me what is causing this problem.

An update on my previous communication with Vodafone eForum. The pc is a Samsung R519 notebook. I've loaded latest Vodafone version of VMC software, also activated regsvr32 vbscript.dll as suggested in someone elses thread. It makes no difference. I'm left with a dongle that I've bought that cannot be used. Help!!!!!!!!!!

Sadly, it does sound like a Windows fault. A quick Google search reveals this solution. Please remember to backup your Restore Point, as we are not trained Microsoft Technical Support, and so are not liable to any damage you may cause modifying Windows.
