3G Data Connection on a New Tablet - Can It Use My Smartphone Data Subscription?

Hi

I want to buy a new tablet which has a 3G data connection.  I already pay for a PAYG 3G data subscription on my smartphone at £5 per month (205MB daily extra data subscription).  I realise I could teather my tablet to the smartphone to use its data subscription.  However, teathering is a little bit of a faff and it will drain my smartphone battery.  I just want my tablet to be able to get an internet connection straight away with no faffing.  Is there a way that the new tablet could make use of the data connection that I already pay for on my smartphone without having to use teathering, e.g. a special data only duplicate SIM that can go in the tablet?

Thanks

Hi @davos,

The best option for this would be signing up to a Red+ plans. They allow you to share your data allowance between each phone/tablet you have without the need to tether.

You can find out how to do this here.

Thanks,
