Hi there
To the best of my knowledge the SureSignal will only work with Vodafone numbers. As the number was provided by BT, regardless of the fact that they use the Vodafone network, you'll not be able to use it with the SureSignal device. Also, you will need a My Vodafone account to be able to manage the device and you will not have one due to the fact that you are not a Vodafone subscriber.

thanks for the answer, we do also have two vodafone phones in the house, a contract and sim only (daughters phones) so would register with that account but was hoping I could add the BT registered phones also?

I'm afraid not, because the number doesn't exist on the Vodafone Network you won't be able to add it to the SureSignal device.
