I've lived in my house for 10 years and always have been able to make and receive calls on Vodafone. For the past week, I now cannot! Problem is known about as per community posts but WHAT is Vodafone doing about it?????????

On looking at your postcode in the Vodafone Network Checker there are no known issues with the local or surrounding masts.
Unfortunatley it does show your in a fringe area.
Sometimes turning off 4g and 3G to force 2g can help stabilise call quality but the downside is that would affect data speeds.
A person can use a Sure Signal that costs £69 that works Off Homebroadband WiFi to create a 3G Signal in the Home or for people with eligible contracts and phone there is Calling Over WiFi.
I appreciate that paying out £69 for a SS isn’t what some want to do but it’s a viable solution for when at home.
Every Network has Not Spots and Fringe Coverage areas.
Vodafone invest vast amounts of money into their infrastructure to continually improve.

Thank you for your reply. However, your explanation does NOT answer why I haven't had a problem for 10 years and now do !!!! Other posts from users in my area ALSO report this as a NEW problem being experienced over the past week or so. SOMETHING has OBVIOUSLY changed, so therefore there clearly IS a technical issue !!!!!!!!

@MVAndrews I've checked your site and it's performing correctly.
Your issue looks to relate to general coverage rather than a network fault, I can see @BandOfBrothers has provided help with how to improve your coverage in his reply.
There's no significant changes we're able to see on our end which would've reduced your coverage.
Any planned upgrades to the coverage in your area will show on our network coverage checker.

You are SO missing the point!!! TEN years and not a problem. NOW in the past week, myself and others are experiencing a problem. On my phone, signal is showing as full strength, but people cannot call me, and I cannot dial out. Very disappointed with Vodafone's response! Looks like I'll be changing networks !! Simply not good enough to say "we cannot find a fault". Guess you don't need my business!

@MVAndrews As mentioned in my previous post, I've checked your mast and it's performing correct. When I did this, any errors would've been flagged, however there was nothing to report.
Try manually changing your device settings down to 2G only to see if this improves things for you.
Be sure to let us know how you get on after you've tested the above.

Thank you, but I already did that a few days ago. Dropping down from 3G to 2G has made an intermittent difference! Last night for example, I couldn't dial out or receive calls, even on 2G. You say there's no problem with the mast, but you offer no explanation for the sudden lack of service that myself and others are experiencing! It's not rocket science to KNOW that SOMETHING has changed. Meanwhile users are left to hang!
