I take it you've got an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus on the latest operating system? You can set different ringtones for an individual

  • Go to Contacts
  • Select a contact
  • Select edit (top right of the screen)
  • Next to ringtone click on the arrow where it says 'default'
  • Here you can select one of Apple's default tones or any musical ringtones you've got on the phone from the Apple App Store / iTunes

Apple makes it very difficult to get different ring tones. On Android you can choose any music file on the phone to play as a rintgtone. Not so with iOS.

I use a piece of freeware called iRinger to create ring tones - it'll imports a music files, creates a ring tone and them exports it back to iTunes. You have to sync with iTunes to get it on the phone.
