Can A PAYG dongle send a txt msg?

I have a K3765 dongle using 3g, but got an error that it couldnt send my txt msg, as some on payg dont allow this.

though i was txting to a voda m-phone, an have a quota of 2gb left.

so am i restricted?

if not, what settings do i need to adjust?

i'm using the 'sms' facility thats part of the connection software that installed onto my laptop to access my dongle.

Hello VLC

A dongle is a data service, you wont be able to send texts, there is no charging profile set up for text messaging.

You may be able to receive texts using the software.

so your'e saying the 'open sms' option on my software is for viewing received txts only?

though i thought free txts were included in my 3GB datapack, for i recall being able to send txts years ago when i first bought my dongle.

or has that policy ended.???
