Conditional Call Forwarding - Hullomail

Related to Pay Monthly Voicemail service.

I've seena few posts in various forums but none of them fix the issue I have.

Apple iPhone 6S+, new voda contract, number ported across 7 days ago from EE.  Standard Voda VM working fine.

Downloaded Hullomail to utilise visual voicemail but had erros activating the service.  Raised a ticket on them, they investigated and reported that this is an issue with Conditional Call Forwarding with the network.

I found posts that suggested various **61*xxxx type codes but they report the exact same failure error that I recieve when using the app to activate.

Bizarrely I have an iPhone 5C for work on Voda and the app activated first time.

Anyone had errors or problems and know how to fix?  Cannot find any option on phone lines to speak to someone about it either!

I'm not familiar with this particular service, but assuming you need to divert calls to another number, you should be able to do it through the phone's settings.  There should be options for All, Busy and Out of Coverage (or similar wording).   You simply enter the number there.  I have Busy and Out of Coverage set, so it's not a network issue,

I tried to find the codes, but couldn't, though I'm pretty sure the format is **code*number# .  Did you include the # at the end?

Thanks for the response.

Sadly and famously, the iPhone settings do not allow for conditional forwarding.  it's all or nothing.  So this can't be done via that method.

You are correct, the **xx*number# is what I have tried but I receive the same error after that as I do when trying to activate via the app.  I tried the codes for all 3 conditions, no different on any.

It's really odd.

I have been a Hullomail customer for some years now on both iOS and Android phones. I'm currently running an iPhone 6S+ and I've never had any problems with Hullomail. I have in my contacts a Hullomail activate contact with the following code

The code to deactivate Hullomail is

**0044*123#

It's really odd. As I said, it's working fine on my other device. Not convinced it's an actual device issue, especially as you have the same phone.

I've got the number in my contacts as you state (slightly different as each VM box number with HulloMail is unique) but it's just generating error codes and failing to set up correctly.

HulloMail themselves has said there's a carrier settings problem and I think they're right but can't find a way to resolve.

Weird

I've deleted my activate code now from my thread.

I'd get through to customer services and ask for second line support and see if they can help.

@TheTranter

I'm sorry to see you're having difficulties with this service.

It's not something we support as it's a third party app and you'll need to persevere with the Hullomail customer service team.

Hi.

Thanks for the response.

The issue isn't with the app but the enablement of conditional call forwarding by the carrier network operator eg Vodafone. For whatever reason, I'm unable to configure conditional call forwarding on the network, this is stopping the app working.

I have exactly the same problem as you. After going round and round and round with VF, they have sent me a new SIM, activated today, and it still doesn't work. No network codes work at all (such as at https://support.vodafone.co.uk/Calls-texts-and-voicemail/Call-diverts/38912104/How-do-I-manage-my-ca...

Googling this, it is a problem for AT&T users in USA too, all with iPhone 6s Plus.

The work around some over there have been successful with is to put your SIM in another phone and do the Hullomail code from there. I shall try this later and repoort back. SO frustrating, I have spent hours on this.

It IS Vodafone's problem if some users cannot send network codes.

Success. I put my SIM into my 'old' iPhone 5s, tried the Hmail activate code - no luck, same error codes as in the 6s BUT then I got a text from VF to update my WAP settings with a link, did this, tried HM Activate again.... and it worked.

Put the SIM back into 6S Plus, rang it from my landline : Hullomail service :Smiling:

Then the 6S got the same text from VF, which I followed and installed the WAP settings, then tested HM again and it still works.

Network codes still do not work on the 6S, at all... none.

I suspect that there is an error in the Vodafone WAP settings for the 6S Plus.
