My daughter will be studying abroad in Scotland for one year. She has a iPhone 5C which is unlocked and has a nano-sim card. What is the best plan for her to get when she gets there. I assume she will have to purchase a UK sim card. We do not care about her calling back to the US but would like her to be able to text whenever she wants back to the US. Again, any help on the best plan would be helpful.
Thank you,
Alan Shapiro

Hi there
As your daughter won't have any UK bank accounts, UK addresses or UK credit history, it is unlikely she will get accepted for any form of contract. Intially, she will probably have to get a PAYG SIM card and possibly opt into a Freebee. Depending on which precise variant of the iPhone 5C she has, it should work in the UK on the Vodafone Network on 2G / 3G but may not work on 4G
