Distortion

Phone is distorting while making & receiving calls. Phone has done it for two days and I am sick of it. I have spoken to Apple and it's not the phone plus my husband who is on Vodafone is having the same thing with his personal and work mobile. I have tried resetting the network, turned 4g off, turned it off and back on, selected a different network and then back to Vodafone, turned the wifi off it distorted through the ear peice, loudspeaker and EarPods. It doesn't distort when playing music or through apps, just calls
