I had been a pay monthly Talkmobile customer for many years without the slightest problem. I have two phones, both on separate contracts, each on a cheap £7.50 per month plan.
Upgrade was due so I applied for an upgrade. I was offered the first phone on a £19 per month contract, reduced to £9.50 per month for the 24 month contract. I wanted to upgrade the second phone to a £17 per month plan, again discounted to £8.50 a month. The second upgrade was refused until I make 3 payments on the first phone plan. I was told that it was because I had gone over the £35 per month limit for new accounts. £19 + £17 was indeed over £35 but I the plan was offered to me at £9.50 per month then £8.50 per month for the second phone. A total of £18 per month. Just £3 more than I had been paying TalkMobile for several years.
The new phone for the first contract arrived as did the letter settng out the plan. I inserted the SIM supplied and waited for the port from Talkmobile to take effect. I had requested and recieved the PAC. Waited for 24 hours as suggested. Turned phone off and on every day and tried to connect to the Vodafone network after scanning.
I have now had the first phone for 7 days. Still no service.
Several calls to Vodafone. Still no service. I was asked to tell them the SIM number as printed on the SIM itself. I did this and they still the SIM number isn't valid.
Ten days after moving and porting from Talkmobile and I have one phone still not in service. Talkmobile disconnected. No upgrade on the second phone despite having kept my Talkmobile account up to date for many years

I can very well understand why you'd be unimpressed with your current situation @AnneH72
I would assume customer service have escalated this to the Vodafone Porting Teams.
We also have a Vodafone Social Media Team here who read all posts and help where they can so please let them catch up with your post and I'm sure that they will help you with this situation if they can.

Hopefully they do just that. My phone calls and live chat have been entirely pointless so far

Given that nobody on the Vodafone Social Media team has replied to this post and and another long phone call tonight hasn't answered my questions I'm beginning to doubt I will ever get my problems resolved
Presumably Vodafone bought the goodwill of Talkmobile, so far they don't seem to care about losing long term TalkMobile customers
