Frequent Errors 504

Randy
4: Newbie
Hello!
I have been receiving lately frequent messages about HTTP Error 504: Gateway Timeout. Also, the internet connection very often stops despite good signal - I receive 0 bps for a few minutes, namely nothing. Websites are opened as if without styles, sometimes raw text, and not fully. Few restarts or Ctrl+F5 help, but the general reception is worsening. I tried several browsers (IE 8, Firefox, Opera, Flock, Safari) , all the same, so I cannot blame the browser.
I also pinged the closest server to my IP and the times and connnection is OK, so I think there is some problem with another one.

Could you check this for me?

Randy

Hi Randy,

Do you usually get good signal where you are? Do you notice if you're connection is on 3G or 2G?
If you can also post your full postcode, we'll be able to check the local sites in your area for faults in case these are causing a problem :)

In the meantime, we are aware of issues with one of our servers which may result in degraded service on 25% of all internet connections during peak hours (between 7am and 7pm). Your issue sounds like it could be related to this. I did receive news today to say that changes have now been put in place which may resolve this now, so you might find that everything is working now :)

Let us know the answers to the above if this is not the case :)

Thank you, Jon
Yes, it is 3G+, GL50 4EW.
As for now it is slightly better, but still I hardly can use it between 5 and 11pm. And still, I have good ping times up to the 10.205.66.68 host and all fails after 10.205.70.157. I mean, that when I have the good signal and despite it I cannot open any website, I ping the hosts and cannot reach further than 10.205.70.157.

Randy,

This thread <> talks about the same problem as you seem to be having with almost identical symptoms. There are some technical types contributing to the thread so maybe keep an eye on that for now and see how the problem ticket progresses.

Hi Randy,

I’ve checked the sites in your area and these seem to be ok so we need to look into this further and may need to raise this as a fault.

I’ve sent you an email today to your registered eForum email address so just reply to the email with the requested information and we’ll get this sorted. :)

I look forward to hearing from you.

All the best,

Jenny

Thank you. I looked there and really found it was a similar problem.
