Giving a static IP to Sure Signal

Hello

I have been given a Sure Signal box (Alcatel-Lucent 9361 Home Cell p3.0). I have been told to install this on our network, for a simple install I was going to give it a static IP but it seems that I can't do this (there is no interface to log into). I don't want to add it to our client IP address range so I was going to put it into a separate subnet (I don’t want the network flooded with voice traffic). Now I can't give out a manual IP via MAC address lease without making changes to our very old SBS 2003 box that is on its last legs (we don't have a DHCP scope in the subnet I want to put it in). What do I need to do to give this Sure Signal box a static IP?

Thanks

Are you able to add a helper address on your switch to point to the SBS box, create a DHCP reservation for the suresignal, then add the firewall rules?

/29 subnet.

What network kit are you using?

In the end I just created a new DHCP scope on the SBS box and it now has an IP (switch was already configured), I just didn't want to make any config changes to it as it is being replaced soon. The sure signal now has internet access.

Hi,

Pretty much what I would have done, sorry I was thinking along the lines of managed switches with VLANs etc.
