Hi I've been using Google assistant quite a lot since I used BANDOFBROTHERS tip about installing
However today I tried to use it and got no response
I've tried clearing cache and the cache in the individual app
Still no joy
But if I go into Google and under settings it's still there and my home button is working fine like pressing it twice to access the camera.
the only other thing I can think of is that it as been withdrawn as far as I believe it wasn't an exact way to install it
As any body else been affected?
As I do miss it as for me using ok Google is a bit of a data and battery hog
Any one any suggestions
I have also tried to change language from UK to USA but still no look and on further searching it does say the UK now as access to it

Hey @SKYMAN513
Have you tried a soft reboot by turning the phone Off and On ?
Any update for it in your Play Store?

I find that fixes a lot of things, @BandOfBrothers. It's my first port of call now.

Totally agree @hrym
I also power down my phone on a night and for those that prefer to keep connected through the night then power down at least one a week.
Refreshes the phone imo.

Thanks for the power down tip I never really thought about it
But it does make sense giving your device time to breath as being on 24/7
I can't believe I never thought of it
Google assistant is still a no show I made another account and went through the stages were you activate it and it did but it still won't work via the home button
But I have noticed by turning ok Google on to see if that would kick start it and I am not getting no voice feedback from that
I've reset and checked the permissions required and it has every thing it needs and more so I'm at a loss

I've managed to get Google assistant back but I had to wipe all data from within the app itself
I tried doing it in app manager but didn't work but from within there you can access manage data
so I cleared the lot and started Google again and it's back
Although I'm not sure what I've lost in the process at the moment
but at the minute everything is back to how I was at least apart from the voice sounding a little synthetic compared to how it was
But I've got it and that will do.
The only other thing I can think of other than what I have mentioned previously is when you use a different account and it says combine data or keep separate and as it asks often I did it differently last time by keeping data separate
That is the only other thing I did differently
But wether that war the cause I'll never know
It is so much better than ok Google
As good as that was it can not be good for your battery constantly listening

Thanks for reply
Yes that was first thing and there is no Google assistant in the play store that I can find
Not saying it's not there but I can't find it
Everything else is there Google allo and all the other stuff but you have just given me an idea I didn't check under my apps
But as I said it's still on my device
But since I posted the first post I remembered what happened yesterday so that's in my other post I've even cleared the cache and as I said my home button works for everything else
But some thing else happens every now and again something updates itself but it happens that quick you don't get chance to see what it is
I'm presuming it's GOOGLE PLAY SERVICE'S
And not play store they are both different ones for apps and the other is so your device can use Google products (I know you know but a lot don't)
My only option at the moment is try the idea you just gave me and try under my apps and try using a different account
Google and the rest make that many changes unless you devote many hours you soon get left behind
